Stethophone troubleshooting tips
Sometimes, when using Stethophone, you might experience specific errors or issues caused by external factors, such as iOS settings on your iPhone. Solving such an issue might be pretty straightforward, even without contacting our support team. If you encounter these issues, the troubleshooting tips in this article will help you resolve them.
Error: “Something went wrong”
If you try to register a new Stethophone account and see the error message “Something went wrong” after entering your email and password, you may have already tried registering an account with this email at some point earlier.
In our latest version, you will also receive an email from Stethophone about a new registration attempt with an existing account. In this case, please reset the password or register another account with a different email address to access Stethophone.
“Reset Password” link doesn’t work
When resetting your Stethophone password, you typically click “Forgot Password,” enter your email address, and receive an email with a link that will redirect you to the page where you can set a new password. Please note that such a link can be used only once. If you try to reset the password but the link doesn’t work, it is possible that you opened the email and clicked the link on a different device, not the same one where you have Stethophone installed. If your link has already been used or expired, simply request another link.
Please ensure you open the “Reset Password” link on the same device where Stethophone is installed.
You can’t find Stethophone in the App Store
If you type ‘Stethophone’ in the App Store search but can’t see Stethophone in the search results, it is possible that you selected a country where Stethophone is not currently available in your App Store account settings. Currently, you can only install Stethophone if you select Canada, the USA, or Ukraine in your App Store account settings.
Error: “Marketplace is not available”
If you use a link that we provided to access Stethophone in the App Store but can’t install it because you see the error message “Marketplace is not available,” then, just like in the previous case, it is possible that you selected a country where Stethophone is not currently available in your App Store account settings. Currently, you can only install Stethophone if you select Canada, the USA, or Ukraine in your App Store account settings.
You can’t hear any sound when you use the stethoscope or listen to a recording
The iOS setting called “Sound recognition” might cause this issue. If you enable “Sound recognition” on your phone before installing Stethophone, the microphone will not work in Stethophone. As a result, you won’t hear any sound in the earphones or see it in the visualization report.
To resolve this issue, first, disable “Sound recognition” under Settings > Accessibility. Next, uninstall Stethophone from your phone and install it again. After that you can enable the "Sound recognition" feature, and the microphone will then work correctly in Stethophone.
